In achieving its mission of establishing a permanent space for the study, preservation and dissemination of Chilean literature in a globalized society, CELICH has recently defined plans for the promotion of the translation of Chilean works. A first result of this definition has been the publication, in the Latin American Literature Today (LALT) magazine, of the short story by Manuel Rojas “El vaso de leche” translated into English by Rosa María Lazo and Pablo Saavedra and edited by María José Navia, all of them professors of the Faculty of Modern Languages.
Among these, the Faculty and the CELICH designed and launched the Diploma in Literary Translation in 2021, a theoretical-practical program, coordinated by the Faculty member Leticia Goellner. 24 students have already graduated from this Program.
